On those rare occaisions when we use gas for the fridge, ours can be difficult to light at first. The reason is quite simple. The gas pipe fills with air and until that air is blown out by the gas, obviously it will not ignite. The burner jet is tiny, so it takes a little time to purge. I find it helps to run the heater, the oven and rings.

I have a Dometic two-door (freezer on top) unit, NDR 1062, in a 2007 Tiffin coach. The cooling unit failed in October, 2011 and was replaced by a Viking replacement cooling unit which has worked fine. Until now.
