Why does my Wedgewood RV oven not heat up?
Why does my Wedgewood RV oven not heat up?
When the Wedgewood Vision RV oven pilot light is on, but no heat is emitting from the oven, then check the safety valve. If the pilot flame gets larger while the main oven burner remains cold, then it more than likely is the safety valve rather than the thermostat. The valve next to the oven’s pilot light assembly is called the thermocouple.
Where is the gas reset button on a Wedgewood stove?
Locate the safety valve on your Wedgewood stove. In most cases the valve will be in the upper right-hand or lower right-hand portion of the stove’s oven. Press the safety valve’s button and hold it for three to five seconds. Release the button. Turn on the stove and see if the burners light. If so, the gas has been reset.
What’s the safety valve on a Wedgewood oven?
The linear burner valves are easily adjusted and feature a wide range of flame settings. The thermostat sends a signal to the safety valve component. The safety valve lets the gas flow freely to the oven burner. The RV Wedgewood oven needs the correct amount of steady propane delivered at the correct pressure.
How does the thermocouple on a Wedgewood stove work?
Wedgewood stoves have a thermocouple next to the pilot that senses when the stove is turned on, allowing the pilot light to ignite the gas. There’s also an extra safety valve on the stove with a red button that allows you to reset the gas if the stove doesn’t light.

Is the oven light on on the RV Doctor?
Thank you for your interest and support for the RV Doctor – Debbie, Heather and Gretchen My Wedgewood oven will not light the main oven burner. The pilot light will light, but when the thermostat calls for heat the main gas valve will not open.
How do you light a gas oven in an RV?
Once in that position, you push in the knob (holding it for 5-10 seconds to allow gas to pass through) as you light the pilot within the oven (as seen by Randy). After lighting the pilot light and while still holding in the knob (after the 5-10 seconds have passed), you then can release the knob while turning it to the desired temperature.
What are the common problems with RV ovens?
If your pilot lighting technique is so good it could be put in the manual, then one potential problem is that your pilot assembly is gunked up. In order to clean it out, unscrew the nut and make sure you don’t lose the small piece that will fall out with it.

Why does my gas oven light not work?
The pilot light will light, but when the thermostat calls for heat the main gas valve will not open. I’m just not sure if the pilot flame increases in size or if my pilot flame is just not big enough to heat the thermocouple.
What should the thermostat be on an RV oven?
It may be necessary to temporarily remove the main burner flame spreader in order to get a clear view of the pilot assembly. While watching the pilot flame, turn the oven thermostat knob up above 300-degrees F. Immediately, the standing pilot should expand and envelope the thermal bulb portion of the safety valve.
