Why does my leaf blower shut off after 3 minutes?

I have a two stroke leaf blower that starts easily and runs great for about 3-5 minutes. After 3-5 minutes, it seems to loose power and eventually shuts off. No sputtering just keeps slowing down till engine shuts off. Any suggestions as to the cause?
