Why are my brake and turn signal lights not working?

Believe it or not, you could have a BCM code that is stopping your brake and turn signal lights from working. Most people don’t have access to a scanner that can access the BCM, so you will most likely need to book an appointment with us to do this. If there are no codes in the BCM, it is most likely the BCM that needs to be replaced.

Why is my left side turn signal not working?

The turn signal not working makes sense because with the brake lights, there is a constant signal coming through which is enough to make the lights illuminate on both sides like they should. But the on/off of a turn signal does not offer enough consistent voltage and makes the problem apparent.

When does one turn signal work and one doesn’t?

If the front one works then usually the switch is working so verify the contacts for the light that is not working are all good. You’re going to need a test light and check the turn signal wire at the rear brake light wire.

If the Bcm is sending out the signal to flash the light then follow the wiring until you lose the signal to find the open in the circuit.
