Your blower motor can give you some very clear signs of overheating, including: A “hot” or burning smell from vents in the home. This symptom is often coupled with the furnace shutting off completely. Often motors overheat because they have power to start, but something is preventing them from operating.

How do you know if your blower motor is overheating?

Hello, I have heat pump unit with a backup auxiliary heat. My blower will not come on neither heat or cooling mode. Blower will no running on neither auto or fan. I’d jumped the motor and is working. My capacitor and transformer is also good too.

All fuses good all relays good. The fan blower for your ac/heater is located under the glovebox. Take your hand and smack the fan blower motor a few times. That’s all it took for for mine to start working again. It’s been working for over 6 month’s now!

You will need to test with a voltmeter and see if your fan motor is getting the required 110 to 125 volts AC out of your control board to start the motor. I would suggest setting your thermostat to the “Fan ON” position. You should be getting 120 volts out of the control board.
