Is the coach battery charged by the alternator?
Is the coach battery charged by the alternator?
Rich. The Inverter is a PowerSource PC50 producing up to 50A at 12VDC. The alternator is charging the chassis battery just fine, and I’ve verified the output of the alternator. But I don’t think the coach batteries are charged by the alternator… is that correct?
Why is my coach battery not fully charging?
A drop in the house battery bank voltage from 13.3 to 12.1 in just a couple of minutes indicates either a MASSIVE draw or much more likely one or more bad batteries. So, I would start by fully charging them and have them load tested. A bad battery can give all kinds of weird symptoms.
What kind of battery charger does coach RV use?
I have checked the 120VAC to 12VDC inverter that I assume is supposed to charge the coach batteries. It produces 13.5 VDC (with no load) and powers all of the 12V components in the RV. The RV uses an Intellitec battery disconnect system. Inside the door are two switches to disconnect the chassis and coach batteries (see photo below).
Can a lithium battery be charged with an alternator?
With a lithium house battery and lead acid starter battery, a battery combiner between the two batteries will keep them both charged ( ). In a car, the alternator gives around 14V to a 12V battery. There is a “charge controller” on car alternators.
Can a bad car battery cause an alternator to not charge?
In theory a car can run only with the alternator charge, but this can cause heavy voltage spikes and other strange symptoms so this means that a bad car battery can cause an alternator to not charge also. Cars are increasingly coming with modern electronics.
What should voltage be to charge RV battery?
How low the voltage is will determine the method that you are supposed to use to charge your battery after jump-starting your vehicle and getting it to run again. Methods : If your battery is reading between 12 and 12.4 volts, then it is very safe to recharge it using the alternator of your vehicle.
Is it normal for a camper grid battery to not charge?
However, the power draw is low down to insignificant and definitely will have no impact on the performance of your battery. This is very normal since the converter usually draws a little quantity of power and especially when it is initially connected.
Where does the charging warning light go on an alternator?
Black and yellow goes from the alternator plug to that generator relay. Blue wire goes from generator relay to that interior harness (C25) which goes to the instrument panel wiring (My 3rd pic the plug on the left) which looks to be for the instrument cluster for the “charging warning light”. Click to expand… Gotcha.
