Does the AC fan run when heat is on?

By John Kim |

Does the AC fan run when heat is on?

Should fan be on with heat? The fan only turns on when cooling or heating (in winter) is required. If you can tolerate most of the summer heat – save for the absolute hottest of days – you’ll want to use the AUTO setting. The AC fan kicks in when needed and stops running when the job is done.

Why is my AC running with thermostat off?

If your AC system short circuits, the commands you enter at your thermostat likely aren’t getting passed onto your system. So, if you turn your AC “off” at your thermostat, that command isn’t registering with the fan or cooling system, causing your AC to stay on when you’ve told it to shut off.

How do I Turn on the AC in my furnace?

Once you have inspected the unit, cleaned it down, changed the filter, set your thermostat to cool, turn the fan to auto, flip the switch and turn on your AC. Now that you have set the thermostat settings correctly, go back outside to make certain that your condenser has turned on and the blades are spinning.

Why does my air conditioner keep running when the thermostat is off?

Usually when the relay switch is broken, the fan will continue to run by itself. This happens because there’s no communication between the thermostat and the blower fan. Now, if it’s a short circuit, both the ‘ on ’ and ‘ off ’ commands you enter typically won’t get sent to the blower fan. As a result, the blower fan will continue to run.

What happens when you crank up the thermostat on a heat pump?

Cranking the thermostat way up when using the heat pump will cause the propane furnace to kick in, now you’re wasting propane and using electricity which is pointless (unless your goal is to heat up the RV as quickly as possible).

How does the thermostat work in a RV?

So there ya go! As with most newer RV’s the thermostat is pre-set for our specific RV climate controls. “Zone 1” controls the living area and “Zone 2” controls the bedroom (some RV’s have 2 separate thermostats entirely).

Why does my thermostat not turn on when the air conditioner is on?

If it is not, the thermostat cannot signal the air conditioner to cycle on. Look for and address simple reasons why the thermostat isn’t getting power, such as dead batteries or a tripped breaker or blown fuse in your main electrical service panel.

What to do when furnace comes on when heat comes on?

Note: If additional indoor air circulation provided by the air conditioner is not desired during Furnace Mode of operation, select Au (AUTO) in the Fan Mode to shut the air conditioner fan off. If Lo (LOW) or Hi (HIGH) is selected the air conditioner fan will continue to operate on the selected speed.
