Well, by connecting batteries, you can increase the voltage, amperage, or both. How to wire batteries in series: Connecting batteries in series adds the voltage of the two batteries, but it keeps the same amperage rating (also known as Amp Hours).

Can I parallel two different batteries?

We would strongly discourage anyone from connecting batteries in series or parallel applications, if the batteries are not identical in age, size and type. Different brands of batteries can have different charging and discharging characteristics, with some accepting a charge or delivering current faster than others.
