Can a WAECO cf40 run on 12 volt?

My Waeco CF40 will only run on emergency, 12 or 240 volt, and has no control lights. Does this mean my power pack is U/S? What parts may be needed and where can I source them?

Using a volt meter I discovered that even on medium battery protection the fridge was cutting out around 12.3/12.4v. on medium t should cut out much lower. With it set to low my fridge is working fine and the battery is still sat at 12.4v, 12.3 when the compressor is running.

Did some investigating with a volt meter today. As a few people have experienced the waeco can cut out (battery protection) even on a full battery a little too early, many suggested it was voltage drop off across the cable. I was always reluctant to set it to low as that could in theory could damage the battery.

Is there a low voltage cutout on a WAECO refrigerator?

Yep read stories they have a low voltage cutout…..check it’s getting plenty to the fridge. Check your batterys voltage level when the motors off at the battery, and at the plug and all connections in between Check the voltage at the fridge. As it starts it may be dropping too much. Where are you located?

How old is a WAECO 40 / 50l freezer?

Most Waeco’s are fine. Engels also breakdown but not as often. My 40/50L is 7-8yrs old. Can’t remember which size, where I bought it. It works but it’s not a home fridge/freezer on 240V. No mobile fridge is perfect.
